Apart from being the healthiest beverage in the planet, green tea has some great additional benefits.

1. Makes You Smarter

Green tea has caffeine. It doesn’t contain nearly as much as coffee does, but it has enough to increase the concentration of neurotransmitters in the brain. Caffeine also has the added benefit of improving your brain function and improving your mood.

2. Cut Down on Coffee

While we’re sill on the topic. Green tea is a great way to cut down on coffee. Alot of coffee drinkers rely on coffee especially in the morning to function at their optimum level. If you’ve tried to before, you know that trying to withdraw from coffee is quite the process-the headaches,mental exhaustion, and sometimes even nausea have you running straight back to that coffee. A simpler way is to gradually reduce the amount of coffee you consume while slowly substituting the coffee with green tea.

3. Weight Loss

Interestingly, green tea features as  part of the ingredient list of many weight loss/diet pills. Green tea has been shown to increase metabolism as well as losing weight. The effect of this however, varies from individual to individual.

4.Reduces the Risk of Cancer

Green tea contains loads of antioxidants that protect your body from cancer. Green tea has been shown to provide a protective effect from breast cancer, prostate cancer and colorectal cancer. To get the most out of your tea, avoid adding milk as it reduces the antioxidant level.
